14.1 What are Web Push Notifications
Using the web push service from AGNITAS, you will provide your customers’ browsers with current news. You will reach the consumers directly while they are surfing the web using an overlay window. If your potential or actual customers have registered for the notification service through your web site, they will subsequently receive your web push notifications regardless of which web page they are currently reading.
No additional applications, such as apps or an e-mail client, will be needed to send a web push notifications. There is only one prerequisite on the part of recipients: their browser must be open in background. The current versions of each of the four “major” browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari) support web push notifications.
Web push notifications can also be used on your web site and their layout and colors can be customized. For the AGNITAS web site, https://www.agnitas.de/, we use a blue bell, which you can click to register for push notifications. A mouse-over message will tell you whether or not you have already registered. The color of the bell depends on the status.
If the registration is for both e-mail and web push messages, both customization features and features for the development of target groups for the push notifications will be available. There is also the option for retroactive identification in addition to this (collection of web push subscriptions using the e-mail profile). Identification is relevant when a new web push subscription has been in use with the newsletter for a long time and registration for the push notifications does not include the newsletter. If you are interested in these options, contact our support team.
The Cross Media Package can only be purchased if you already own the commercial version of the EMM. If you are interested, please contact our customer advisors.
