4.2 E-mail signature with DKIM procedure

Not only in security-critical industries such as banks, insurance companies or when sending to US webmailers such as AOL, Googlemail, Outlook.com or Yahoo is it recommended to sign your e-mails. The Certified Senders Alliance (CSA) also requires all its members to sign their mailings accordingly in order to benefit from CSA whitelisting. And even if you intend to use the DMARC procedure, DKIM is a prerequisite. For this purpose, the E-Marketing Manager supports the DKIM ("Domain Keys Identified Mail") procedure, which has established itself as the standard for sender authentication. However, in order to use this e-mail signature, the DNS entry of the sender domain you are using must be modified. If necessary, please contact the AGNITAS-Support.

In order to use this e-mail signature, a private key, which must be deposited for your account, and a public key, are required for entry in the DNS. If you already have the corresponding key, we can take it over for you in the EMM. As long as you have not yet entered your own DKIM key, you automatically send with an AGNITAS signature. However, mailings whose signature matches the sender domain are classified as more trustworthy. Therefore, the use of the AGNITAS signature should only be seen as an emergency solution if your DNS does not support TXT entries. The DKIM DNS names at AGNITAS look as follows: agn._domainkey

Our DKIM keys have a length of 2048 bits. If you do not want to use our standard selector "agn" due to a company policy or if you need a different key length, simply give us your desired selector and the required key length at the same time.
